This is now WAY better. This stick is nigh indestructable. Being locked out is exactly what can happen even now. I wonder if my computer is not up to the job, even though it meets or exceeds many of the specs ( i7 CPU, new Radeon 550 graphics card with 4MB of memory, 24 GB of memory for the system and cable internet connection.) There aren't any decent sticks on the market at the moment and won't be in any foreseeable future. Advanced embedding details, examples, and help! With a keyboard in very close proximity to the throttle control I see it as a great alternative while I continue to delay purchasing a Saitek X52/55. I have the FFB2, but stopped using it due to the lack of mounting holes, the rather large size of the base, the lack of buttons, and the 'force deadzone' issue which I explain here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=222488, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185028. Please! No problems with either FSX or the short lived Flight. MW3 and MW4 are both greatly enhanced by the Force Feedback feature. The Force Feedback 2 joystick works well and it's a real shame that popular, modern sticks like the X52 and X55 are not even close to the build of the Sidewinder. My Sidewinder is modded with increased length and an F-15 grip. A 'figure-of-8' IEC power cable is needed to power it along with the built-in USB cable. Can you elaborate on what makes the FFB2 feel better than the G940? The force feedback will not return. Odd... mine appears to funtion just fine. I cannot control the flight of the simplest aircraft in FS2020. Yeah, works fine in FSX, DCS etc. looks ugly though. I have the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 and it has served me faithfully on and off for decades but it does not work with MSFS2020. Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. I know Force Feedback is an older technology, but I would have at least expected basic analog bindings to work, even if I miss out on the Force Feedback stuff. Español - Latinoamérica (Spanish - Latin America), http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOGITECH-Extreme-3D-Pro-Digital-Joystick-Video-Game-Controller-/382179513337?hash=item58fbac93f9:g:V-wAAOSw-wFZbVvN. Your best bet for DCS choppers is, unfortunately, an extended stick. Back in the late 60's to early 70's I used to be a telegraphist and used TRESS (electro mechanical device) to send messages 6-12 hours per day at 60 wpm. I'm the OP and whilst the conversation that has followed is a real popcorn moment, I just want an answer from someone as to what is happening with FF2 support. MS make this great joystick compatible with FS 2020 ! But let’s hope it makes the list at least! I used to swear by it once and often stated here how great it was for flying the Ka-50. What did you do to mate the two? Anybody from Dovetail? Another long-time Sidewinder FFB2 user here; had it nearly 15 years now and still as good as new! Hi, Can anyone with a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 check for me if the stick has a switching power supply? Thanks guy's, i managed to get my grubby little hands on one from Las Vegas of all places. I bought one from auction and only realised afterwards that the stick is from Japan (110v grid) and I live in a country with 220v grid electricity. Using simFFB for trim, our neutral centre point will be on the ‘ramp’ of the response curve, not at the bottom of the curve. Such sites include Kinguin, CDExpress and G2A. One would think that since both are microsoft products someone would provide and answer. I echo all the positives about the stick....had mine for years through thousands of miles of Flight Sim, X series and now ED. Can we temporarily restore it by altering any configuration file? :) #9. remove-circle Share or Embed This Item. Basically they are built like tanks and seem to go on for ever. I definitely wouldn't recommend the G940. Let me join the Sidewinder FFB2 owners and admirers. I can see how useful this could be, especially since it can provide realistic off-centre trim, however I suppose this will work ‘against’ the sensitivity curves set up within the sim. So I expect minor changes in stick movement will have more dramatic effects on the aircraft; meaning it will be difficult to achieve a trimmed state in the end. And then the dumb question: how do you reduce the sensitivity as per your comment? Flying without force feedback sort of sucks! Maybe this thread should be in the “wishlist” category? (Can live without buffeting and I never liked the ground bumps implementation anyway.). It's still very accurate after many years use. It all resumes to axes afterall. It works flawlessly with FSX, Flight School, as well as most other simulations using force feedback (War Thunder, IL2, ...) I *want* to be able to use it with this game!
