Crater Lake is located in the Weminuche Wilderness Area of the San Juan National Forest near Silverton, Colorado. Good number of boreal forest birds. Camped at Molas to get an early start. Trailhead isn't marked, you have to go around the right side of the lake, then take the small side trail past a wooden fishing deck area, and you'll see the trail info sign shortly after.
