It doesn't look like a toy, it looks like a tool and I appreciate that. It's working fine in the Windows control panel. Surely there is a was to setup a joystick? It has a great feel, and plenty of affect that can be tweeked to your liking. This is supposed to be a first-class WWII air combat simulator but I really wouldn't know. Then again, not much is needed. With excellent force feedback, a great game, and a price that won't break the piggy bank - this is one of the best force feedback values you will find anywhere. The prices are way down which means the value is way up. It allows you to configure your joystick for each game you have. Fits like a glove may be an overused cliche' but it really does fit like a glove! Yikes! My first impression was that it was much lighter than I expected it to be not to say that it is as light as a non-force, but it is definitely lighter than the MS-Force Feedback 2.
The ideal choice for you might be this Logitech G Saitek PRO Flight Yoke Joystick System which has integrated a high level of performance in order to simulate as many aspects of flying as possible. The game is styled similar to a Star Wars concept, and has a great story line.
If you are in the market for a force-feedback joystick and don't need, want, or can't afford the latest generation, then I suggest you check out the Logitech Wingman Force. You can play with the sensitivity, and since I like to FEEL as much as I can, I cranked it up! It is much more comprehensive and helpful than anything that comes in the box with the joystick. It is very comparable to the MS Force Feedback (which is saying a lot).
Whatever you do, don't try to resolve this issue by adding weight to the unit. Logitech Description: Feel the action in your games. Because Logitech failed to include a manual of any kind! Why? P.S. You can also tweak the joystick sensitivity, adjust the force-feedback strength, centering spring strength, and damping. It must be the official state joystick of Texas! Muscular. You will install the Logitech software first, then after the install connect the USB controller. The controller looks very sleek, and I thought the stickers they put on the controller looked really good all except for the big 'gaudy looking' Force Feedback sticker (it looks like some guy in marketing said they need to make sure people know it has force feedback, so they plopped on a big clunky looking sticker).

The buffeting you feel when your P-38 Lightning is on the verge of a stall will send a chill down your spine. I have the Wingman Force joystick too, wanted to get it working to play MFS on Windows 10, unfortunately there aren't any drivers for 64 bit windows version. There is even an infrared sensor in the grip so it knows when you are holding it. I paid forty dollars for mine over the internet and haven't had one moment of regret. Move the throttle further out to the left, and put some kind of bump in the middle to find neutral.
My flight simulator settings are set to use the joystick and the joystick shakes momentarily when I turn on the computer so I know my joystick is getting power, etc, Logitech Wingman 3D joystick not supported/working - help? I wish I could say this went smooth but it didn't. I still don't know why the installation CD didn't work but it didn't work on my friend's computer either. My Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D joystick just has a large "?" Not much. Very cool feature. This way you can easily incorporate pictures and hyper links to get around, and it will have a more user friendly interface.
Sharp. The plastic is not the hard brittle kind (I hate that kind), the buttons don't squish (I hate squishy buttons). If it's all about size then this joystick wins hands down. At one point during setup, there was a link to the flight simulator site home page and message saying I need to create a custom control profile or something.
