The food w as not the “standard” set of sandwiches, the cakes were a delight, the service attentive but not intrusive and the ambience TOP class. The service was sluggish and generally impersonal / inattentive. I have been several times to The Lanesborough for afternoon tea. I was also shocked that the tea was not replenished during the sitting, whereas the waitress was quite happy to ask if we needed to replenish champagne. Sandwiches were delicately flavoured. Food was delicious and just the right amount.
