Thunderstorms with intense vertical winds as well as horizontal winds can produce hailstones. its grey and rainy all the time, you might get a few sunny days here and there but that is it. That’s the only thing that I’ve seen that compares to this. 10:54 PM: SCL says it’s working to get to all the outages – the number of which has increased since the storm moved north.

I was staying at a friend’s house in Bellevue/Redmond and we were terrified. Only made it to 9min in the 1st. Lightning Warnings issued by the Department of Commerce agencies (NOAA & National Weather Service) and the Department of Defense agencies (US Air Force and US Navy) mean that lightning has already struck within 5 miles of a given area at least once within the last 15 minutes. Smaller hailstones can be ejected from thunderstorms 10-15 miles away from the cloud itself, while heavier stones fall directly down from the cloud. Why don't we get more thunder and lightning? I’m a 50 year resident. The storm looked pretty cool from up here tho. I guy I work with at Valley Medical said he saw it lightening once his whole life. We just lost power in a pocket in Higland Park.
