We passed through wetlands and farm fields for the first couple of miles.
Virtually a flat trail except from Lisbon to Leetonia, it's gradual uphill from mile 4 to 6. Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail spans 12.5 mi. You will pass in front of Police Station.

After the railroad abandoned the track, much of it fell into the hands of local philanthropist Allen Dickey, who would later donate it to Columbiana County. The Vondergreen Trail promises views of the whitewater of Little Beaver Creek, steep forested slopes, and plentiful wildlife—what it delivered was muddy trails, weeds six feet tall infringing on the trail, including stinging nettles, and well, okay, we’ll give it the great views of scenic Little Beaver Creek—when we could see over the weeds. Go approximately 1/4 mile and just before the American Legion, High Street turns to the Right. I'll just add a few highlights. I shard the trail with other cyclists, joggers, walkers and even a motorized scooter. At mile 6.2 there is a large wash out. On the way back if you are hungry you can stop at Dairy Queen just a short distance from the trail in Leetonia. I packed a lunch and ate on the trail.
We drove 90 minutes from Pennsylvania to bike this trail and it was well worth the trip. Still worth the ride. Mile marker 0 for the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail can be found at its southern in Lisbon.
After riding in tress for 8 miles this is quite a change (see photo). And DO by all means check out the bonanza of burgers at that Steel Trolley Diner down in Lisbon, north of the trail head on US-30, the main street in Lisbon. The scenery is awesome, ample benches and tables to take breaks at if you decide you need to rest. After waiting out a brief rain, we began our journey south to Lisbon. The Shaker Trace Trail forms a loop around Miami Whitewater Forest, the largest county-run park in Hamilton County. Trail. At the end is another Gazebo and porta-john. The last 1800 feet to Washington Street in Leetonia has been approved and hopefully will be finished this summer. Love that I can go from Lisbon Trailhead to Washingtonville now. But seriously, it is a beautiful trail, most of it in a woodsy atmosphere, and definitely one we will come back to again. The Canal Feeder Trail begins at Graceland Cemetery on the south end of Sidney and continues southwest on a former historical canal towpath dating back to the 1840s. It was down a steep hill but well worth the extra effort coming back up the hill. I assume these volunteers clean the length of the trail. This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of English in the United States. My only other observation of this trail is that it doesn’t mark any road hazards. The trail is somewhat flat at each end with a gradual long (2 mi) grade you ascend to reach the midpoint of the trail. The beauty of the trail makes up for a lot this. 11.7 km I enjoyed this trail and looked forward to seeing the Teagarden Bridge and the coke ovens.
For a hot summer day, the trail was shaded in a lot of sections. They were as confused as we were.The Leetonia parking area was a bit hard to find, but a local biker pointed us in the right direction.It was a very pleasant ride. Our whole ride measured 20.4 miles (The Eagleton Rd parking area was about .2 mile from the trail and we rode through the lots at each end.) Be sure to add this trail to your must-ride list. In addition, there is a nice little scramble up a shale slope near towering rock walls at the 3.4 mile mark—definitely one of the most scenic parts of the hike. So sad that Lisbon is struggling so bad. Though it's been a few years since we biked it. Lisbon is a nice town with some good places to eat after the ride. The Steve Whalen Boulevard Bikeway is a short neighborhood trail in East Dayton. The trail is well maintained and has clean portable toilets. Also has a parking lot. The town of Troy was the most confusing and is very very poorly marked. The parking was confusing at the trailhead. The Creekside Trail is part of a network of more than 340 miles of trails that travel throughout Ohio’s scenic Miami Valley. Lovely, well-maintained trail. MP9.4 - About a 50' long bridge over the creek. Other than that a great ride and well maintained. At some points, the vegetation is so overgrown that it is easiest to walk along the trail with your arms held above your head—we termed this maneuver “Vondergreening.” The highlights of the trail include Grey’s Lock, Vondergreen’s Lock, and Gretchen’s Lock.

Also at the new lot is an air machine and picnic tables and flush toilets. The only minor issue with this trail is that there are a few road crossings- this may not be the best trail for very young riders as some of the crossings seem a little blind and I imagine drivers can move quite quickly down these country roads. I hope this is helpful. Oh, and if you like black raspberries, enjoy the wealth around that swamp just south of Leetonia! Columbiana County has just extended it from Leetonia to Washingtonville this year.
