Why have a period piece if you're just gonna throw futuristic technology in it? It feels very saturday-morning-cartoon in terms of quality, but I don't think that is a bad thing. What are your plans if the prices don't settle in 1-3 years? Worth watching once and then never again.
I spent the $20 and enjoyed it. Bats reliance on technology was a let down because since when did he need the batmobile to win. The film was purely for entertainment and artistic value. But it won't be a good story if you give the audience a Batman whose sole role is to move the plot forward. Thanks for the review though!
I really wanted to like it and at times I thought I could let the bad go enough to get into it. The story was not the best. Movies not great so far, but anime tropes and Batman make for some funny stuff. Did anyone else have a problem with Batman fully believing the Joker had changed? The guys who designed the castle Mecca must have had engineering degrees to create all this nonsense! It looked good (for the most part, but I understand why some scenes aren't as well done or smooth as others), and the voice acting was also very good, each voice fit the character. Would love for you to check it out!

The voice actors were brilliant. You have the choice to view that as naivety or optimism. Maybe if this film didn't have Batman and showcased the Robins including Batgirls... it would've been kind of awesome. Also I watched the Dub but I felt they missed a moment where there's could have kept the original Japanese. EDIT: For anyone interested, we did a short review of Batman Ninja that covers a lot of it's problems but shines some light on some cool aspects of the movie. Edit: Just finished the movie and what the heck even is this movie! Part of me is contemplating investing half of that in airline stock hoping for a mild recovery in the short term. COMPLETELY understand the gripes with the story, and the frustrating breaks of certain batman themes we expect in these movies.
r/netflix: Netflix discussion, and all things Netflix related! The action is the only saving grace of the movie and It's good thing this movie is filled with such creative combat scenes throughout the film. I mean. Exactly. Only when Bats went no-jutsu/ninja assassin did he win. Besides paper towels, I already shop deals and stock up. I took it for what it was and was left speechless throughout. Batman is doing frickin ninjutsu hand signs. Batman Ninja is a spectacle of anime-level action sequences, fantastic visuals and….not much else. I cannot say much more than I fell head-over-heels here! I was super excited for this movie to come out.
But the voice over work for Joker was grating and I needed him to take his lvl 12 down to a 9.

It had potential to be interested but I think it lost its plot about half way into the movie and just became nonsense. Overall 3.5/10. I don't mind paying that for a great animated Batman, but with the style mirroring the new anime Godzilla I am skeptical. I saw that it was available to buy and watch early on VUDU but it is $20. It less than a mile, I barely work up a sweat and I can get there in half the time. I don't know if this is common in anime, but there was no setup for a lot of what went on (most notably the giant robot casltes). I can see myself watching this again though after a couple years have passed. I watched it with the subtitles instead of the dub and I feel that immersed me more in the film than if I hadn't. The Bats losing a sword fight against the joker I don't believe.
